Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who helps us process it and the choices you have. Please read it together with our Terms of Service and Investment Disclaimer.
1. Who we are
Stockology.ai ("Stockology", "we", "us") runs stockology.ai and blog.stockology.ai. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used.
For any question about your privacy or this policy, email us at hello@stockology.ai.
2. What we collect and why
When you join our waitlist, on this site or through our blog, we collect your email address, the investment experience you choose (if any), your main area of interest and whether you signed up on the website or the blog. We use this to keep your place on the waitlist, send you a welcome email, tell you when Stockology.ai launches and understand who our early users are. We rely on your consent, which you give by submitting the form and can withdraw at any time.
When you visit the site, we collect basic usage information, such as the pages you view, the site that referred you, your browser, device type and approximate country. We use this, in aggregate, to understand how the site is used and to improve it. We rely on our legitimate interest in running and improving the site.
Our hosting provider keeps server logs to keep the site working and secure. These logs include technical details of each request and, when you join the waitlist, your email address. We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the Service secure and fixing problems.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Who processes your data for us
We use a small number of trusted service providers (processors) who handle data only on our instructions:
PocketHost hosts our database (PocketBase), where waitlist sign-ups are stored. Resend sends our welcome emails and internal sign-up notifications. Vercel hosts the website and blog, provides anonymised usage analytics for the website and keeps server logs. Umami provides anonymised usage analytics for the blog.
We may also share data if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users or the public.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We set one small cookie, stockology_theme, on stockology.ai and its subdomains to remember whether you chose light, dark or system mode, so the choice is the same on the website and the blog. Your browser also stores the same choice locally. This preference does not identify you and lasts up to one year.
Our analytics (Vercel Analytics on the website, Umami on the blog) do not use cookies and do not track you across other websites. We do not use advertising cookies.
5. How long we keep your data
We keep waitlist data while the waitlist is active and for up to 12 months after Stockology.ai publicly launches, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. After that we delete it, unless you have since created an account, in which case a new notice will explain how we use your account data.
Server logs and analytics data are kept for the shorter periods set by our hosting provider.
6. Leaving the waitlist or deleting your data
To leave the waitlist or have your data deleted, email hello@stockology.ai from the address you signed up with. We will remove you and confirm once it is done.
7. Your rights under Nigerian law
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to: be told how your data is used; get a copy of your data; have inaccurate data corrected; have your data deleted; restrict or object to how we use it; receive your data in a portable format; and withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what we did before you withdrew it.
To use any of these rights, email hello@stockology.ai. We aim to reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
8. If you are in the United Kingdom
If you are in the UK, the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 also protect you. You have broadly the same rights listed above: access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability and withdrawal of consent.
We will reply to requests within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), although we would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first.
9. International transfers
Our service providers store and process data outside Nigeria, for example in the United States or Europe. When your data is transferred abroad, we rely on safeguards recognised under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and, for UK users, UK GDPR, such as the provider's contractual data protection commitments.
10. Keeping your data secure
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), access to our database limited to authorised people and systems, and secret keys kept out of our code. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you and the relevant regulator about a serious breach where the law requires it.
11. Children
Stockology.ai is not intended for anyone under 18, as set out in our Terms of Service. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has joined our waitlist, email hello@stockology.ai and we will delete their data.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Stockology.ai grows, for example when accounts launch. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
